  1. I never new him but I feel as if I did, through his stories and musical flair his thoughts transcended onto the stage and we can only but hope we can achieve the same personal successes in our lives.

  2. my broertjie my bra…..
often taliep would say to me and to others that i was like a younger brother to him, and even though I never told him or anyone else that he was like an older brother to me – today i would have to say that he was my bra – when i needed a favour he was there – when i was in trouble – he would sort it for me. He took me from the ground – today i feel very honoured, for the past ten years, to have recorded some of Cape Town’s best music with him. What I am, what I am still to achieve – as a recordist – i owe to my Bra.

  3. Taliep Petersen had touched many lives indeed. Although I have not been resident in South Africa for many years, Taliep Petersen has and will always represent ‘my culture’ to me. Thank you Taliep for your amazing talents and your outstanding ability to let us see a very painful past with a musical note, a tear and a laugh. May your path be guided by the light of the Almighty and may the hearts of those who loved you be filled with sabr (patience)in your absence.
